From the desk of the President
National Association for Chemical Security (NACS)
As the president of this esteemed organization, I am pleased to report that we with the support of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Richland, WA, and Chemical Security Program (CSP), Washington, D.C., State Department of USA, have arranged Indo-US Workshops on Chemical Security of Dual-use Chemicals in India since 2016. Workshops became regular (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022) and were hosted by CSIR Labs and Universities in India.
Our association is committed to bringing together stakeholders from industry, government, academia, and civil society to identify and address the most pressing chemical security challenges. We require to develop a suitable CURRICULUM for graduate and undergraduate levels to bring awareness in the student community at the College/University levels and propagate the knowledge amongst future researchers, academicians, and entrepreneurs. We must promote best practices, facilitate information sharing and collaboration, and advocate for policies and regulations that enhance the safety and security of the chemical industry. We will be promoting effective risk management strategies which will reduce the risk of harm to human health, the environment, and national security.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to our mission of advancing chemical security. We will continue to work together with our members and partners to address emerging chemical security challenges, advocate for policies that protect public health and the environment, and promote responsible stewardship of chemical resources.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make a difference and create a safer, more secure world for all.
Sincerely,
V. K. Jain
